The Clay Haven
Proposed Community Pottery Studio, Liskeard
View Crowdfunder Here:
The Clay Haven will be a community pottery studio and creative retail space designed to support the wellbeing, connection and creativity of people in Liskeard and the surrounding area.
My aim is to create a warm, welcoming space where people can learn pottery, join creative wellbeing sessions, meet others, and have the chance to sell their handmade work. The Clay Haven will be established as a CIC, ensuring that reinvesting into the community is at the heart of everything we do.
What The Clay Haven Will Offer
The Clay Haven will be a place where anyone can walk through the door and feel at ease. It will combine:
A working pottery studio
- Pottery workshops
- Six-week courses
- Family sessions
- Open studio time for regular makers
- One-to-one tuition
A retail area
- Affordable shelf space for local makers
- A chance for people to sell handmade work
- A way to support creative micro-businesses locally
- A platform for true, local Cornish craftsmanship and heritage
Creative wellbeing activities
I will run sessions that focus on sociable, low-pressure creativity — an opportunity to slow down, meet people, develop a creative practice and relax. Grant-funded programmes will ensure these sessions are accessible, particularly for people navigating isolation, mental health challenges or life transitions.

- In an area that is already developing its creative identity
